Kyoto International School offers a dynamic English immersion Programme every Saturday for children aged 3 to 12. Our Programme is designed to foster a love for the English language while developing crucial communication skills in a fun and engaging environment.

Summer

Camp

The Summer Camp at Kyoto International School (KIS) is a vibrant day program held during the summer break, welcoming both current KIS students and non-KIS participants. Each year, the camp features dynamic, hands-on activities centered around an engaging theme, ensuring a memorable and enriching experience.

Students engage in a variety of projects, crafts, physical activities, and outdoor adventures. For older participants, the program includes day trips to local attractions, enhancing their exploration of the annual theme while adding depth to their learning journey.

As an IB World School, our curriculum is built around the frameworks of the Primary Years Programmeme (PYP), Middle Years Programmeme (MYP), and Diploma Programmeme (DP).

We inspire and guide our students to be curious inquirers and critical thinkers, always striving to explore new questions. We encourage them to embrace challenges, take risks, and view setbacks as opportunities to learn and grow.

Our students learn to be compassionate and open-minded, preparing them to become global citizens who contribute positively to the world. Together with our students, we continuously reflect on how we can improve and strive for excellence in all that we do.

KIS Continuum

of Education

Welcome to Kyoto International School, where we've been inspiring active learners and developing global citizens since 1957. Our accredited IB World School offers a nurturing environment for students from Kindergarten through Grade 10, with plans to expand to Grade 12 by 2026.

University Counseling

At KIS, our College Counselling team begins working with students in Grade 10 and progressively increases their assistance and guidance through Grades 11 and 12. We employ a "personalized approach" that equips students with essential skills, knowledge, and awareness to help them make well-informed decisions about their future academic paths. Throughout the academic year, KIS hosts numerous visits from universities and colleges from around the world. During these visits, our students and families can gather information about course offerings, engage directly with university representatives, and explore the unique opportunities each institution provides.
